Im Nebel

(written in 2010 for a friend suffering from terminal cancer - she is alive!)

the day dawned dark

and heavy mist

sinks deep into my soul.

i cannot see the sun,

your face seems clouded.

not a hint of your graciousness.

why don’t you take me out of here?

why don’t you answer me?

questions are pacing round.

but I do not dare to move –

will my feet find solid ground?

so i’m waiting on you

as always

place my life in your hands

as always

all my ways lay plain before you

and I know their end is good

your ends are good.

it dawned on me

that you’ve been there

beside me day by day.

you took me by my hands

-my face was clouded-

and have guided my every step.

if you won’t take me out of here

here shall i stand with you

thrown in your hands i am

and in this place i’ll remain

– there is no better ground.

and i’m waiting on you

as always

place my life in your hands

as always

all my ways lay plain before you

and I know their end is good

your ends are good.

sinks deep into my soul.
